Laban Study

2020

The Studio

Brighton

An on-going collaborative research project using Laban Movement Analysis as a counterpoint for exploration across sound, sculpture and choreographic practices. Laban movement analysis draws from multiple fields including anatomy, kinesiology and psychology. It is a method and language for describing, visualizing, interpreting and documenting human movement. Working closely with the Laban archive at surrey university witch houses almost all of Laban’s original drawings-a growing collective of practitioners regularly meet, collaborate and reflect on work/ methodologies in relation to Laban Movement Analysis.
